NY Times article Sue Johnson, Psychologist Who Took a Scientific View of Love, Dies at 76
“EFT has been recognized by the American Psychological Association as an evidence-based approach and is now taught in graduate schools.”
“Close connection is the strongest predictor of happiness, much more than winning the lottery. It also significantly lessens susceptibility to anxiety and makes us more resilient against stress and trauma.”—Dr. Sue Johnson
Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist means I completed all courses on Emotionally Focused Therapy, the most well researched and successful couple therapy approach available and submitted video clips of my work with couples for review by EFT trainers. This process took me 4 years to complete. In 2019 the New York Chapter of Emotionally Focused Therapy recognized my work in this field for providing learning opportunities for therapists and for providing the Hold Me Tight Workshop to couples in New York.
Carolyn McIntyre has a remarkable ability to align with her clients in a deeply empathic manner, simultaneously reaching into each partner’s world and validating their experience, while also then gently, with great care, illuminating the negative cycle that keeps them disconnected.
